  1. Charles Fisher first writes in his essay "Cell Phones and Social Graces," what an amazing creation cell phones are and all of its acceptable qualities that a regular house phone does not have. However, Fisher thinks that all of the cell phones crazy innovations are not as necessary to him as they may be to other people. He directs the reader by explaining how he can turn his phone off when driving or shopping or eating and how he does not have to talk while taking a walk around the park. Fisher also says how he doesn't need to know who is trying to call him or he doesn't need the use of instant messaging.

In this essay, Fisher's main disagreement with the use of cell phones is how people show such slavish dependency of cell phones which is accompanied by the demise of common social courtesies. My mom and dad are my perfect yin and yang example. My mom thinks just like Fisher because she doesn't need of having a cell phone and she is very comfortable using her regular house phone. She used to have a cell phone because my dad made her carried one for anything he might need but she didn't like it when her cell phone started to ring while she was in line of the bank waiting to be helped. She felt like everyone was looking at her and told my dad that she didn't want to carried it any more and that if he needed something he was just gonna have to wait until she got back home.

On the other hand, my dad is the opposite of Fisher because my dad is more addicted to his cell phone. He is a good example of those slavish people who you don't whan to hear the conversation they have going on while you're shopping or eating and while taking a walk around the park. For example, one day my mom and dad took me to McDonald's and eat breakfast. While standing in like my mom and I went to the restroom and wash our hands while my dad ordered for all of use so it would be so much faster but when we came back my dad had the young cashier girl waiting on him because he was on his cell phone. So my mom and i had to order insted.
